Platinum Vehicle Services is committed to reducing its environmental impact and continually improving its environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods. We will encourage customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to do the same.

2. Policy Aims

We endeavour to:

  • Continually improve and monitor environmental performance.

  • Continually improve and reduce environmental impacts.

  • Incorporate environmental factors into business decisions.

  • Increase employee awareness and training.

3. Waste Management

  • We will minimize waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.

  • We will actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers.

  • We will dispose of waste safely and legally.

4. Energy and Water

  • We will seek to reduce the amount of energy used as much as possible.

  • Lights and electrical equipment will be switched off when not in use.

  • Heating will be adjusted with energy consumption in mind.

  • The energy consumption and efficiency of new products will be taken into account when purchasing.

5. Transportation

  • We will reduce the need to travel, restricting to necessity trips only.

  • We will promote the use of travel alternatives such as e-mail or video/phone conferencing.

  • We will make additional efforts to accommodate the needs of those using public transport or bicycles.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Cleaning materials used will be as environmentally friendly as possible.

  • Materials used in office refurbishment will be as environmentally friendly as possible.

  • We will only use licensed and appropriate organisations to dispose of waste.

7. Pollution Prevention

  • We will prevent pollution by carefully handling and storing oils, fluids, and other potentially hazardous substances.

  • We will have spill kits readily available and train staff on their use.

  • We will properly maintain our equipment to prevent leaks and emissions.

8. Compliance with Legislation

We will comply with all relevant environmental legislation, including but not limited to:

  • Environmental Protection Act 1990

  • Clean Air Act 1993

  • Water Resources Act 1991

  • Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005

  • Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013

  • Review this policy and any related business issues at our monthly management meetings.

10. Responsibility

The owner of Platinum Vehicle Services is responsible for ensuring that this environmental policy is implemented. However, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.
